Planning games for a Spider-Man birthday party can feel a little overwhelming—after all, you want activities that are exciting, action-packed, and true to the theme. For my son’s party, I put together a mix of games that kept kids moving, laughing, and completely immersed in the Spider-Verse. From silly icebreakers to full-blown superhero training missions, every activity was designed to spark imagination and make the guests feel like real heroes. Below, I’ll walk you through the six Spider-Man party activities we had at our party to help inspire yours.

One of the first activities we set up for our Spider-Man party was the “What’s Your Superhero Name?” game, which greeted guests right as they walked in the door. I pieced together a chart using ideas from several versions I found online and customized it to fit our party. The game is simple: guests combine the first letter of their first name with the month they were born to discover their superhero identity. For example, as a Laura born in October, my name became Professor Arrow.

Guests then grabbed a superhero-themed name tag sticker, wrote down their new identity, and proudly wore it throughout the party.

Another arrival activity at the party was our DIY Photo Booth Station. I set up an oversized comic book city backdrop, which doubled as fun décor and the perfect place for guests to strike a superhero pose. To make the photo booth extra special, I created a simple printing station: an HP printer loaded with 4x6 glossy photo paper, colorful cardstock frames, and step-by-step instructions for guests to follow. Using their own phones, guests could snap a picture in front of the backdrop, send it to the printer with just a couple taps, and slide it into a bright cardstock frame to take home as a keepsake.

Her costume was so cute. I got it here.

One of the highlights of our Spider-Man party was a collaborative mystery sticker mosaic. I designed a giant grid in Photoshop, with each square labeled with a color name—red, blue, black, or white. When printed, the poster spanned 8 sheets of cardstock that I taped together (like a puzzle) and then reinforced with a poster board backing for sturdiness.

At the party, I set out 1-inch square stickers in each color and placed the grid on our ottoman where everyone could gather around. Throughout the party, guests took turns adding stickers to the grid. Even the youngest kids could help, and the older ones loved working toward the big reveal. By the end of the day, our collaborative artwork showed a fun, blocky pixel version of Spider-Man hanging upside down!

This was a great activity because it worked for all ages—simple for little hands, yet satisfying for older kids and adults. Best of all, it doubled as interactive entertainment and a memorable keepsake for the birthday boy.
👉 I’m including the free printable mystery mosaic file so you can make your own! Just print all 8 pages at 100% scale, tape them together, and provide your guests with square stickers. It’s an easy, low-cost activity with big impact. [Click here to download the Spider-Man Mosaic PDF]
We headed outside for our next activity - Villain Target Practice. Before guests arrived, I printed and laminated images of Spider-Man’s classic foes, stapled them to blank yard signs, and staked them around the lawn. Then I handed out “web shooters” (silly string) and set the kids loose to defend the city! They raced from target to target, covering each villain in webs.

Pro tip: give a quick safety talk (spray away from faces, keep a little distance) and place a basket outside for empty cans. For cleanup, we turned it into a bonus game—whoever brought back the biggest pile of silly string was the winner. The backyard was spotless in minutes, and the kids loved it.
One of the highlights of the party was our Superhero Training Obstacle Course. We kept all the obstacles tucked away in another room during the party, and when it was time to play, it was all hands on deck — every guest helped carry out an obstacle. In a matter of seconds, an entire obstacle course stretched from one end of the house to the other! The path included stepping stones, a jungle gym climb, cushion jumps over a ball pit, balance beams, a rainbow crawl tunnel, and even a “Car Wash Crawl” made of red and blue streamers. To make it feel like a real superhero challenge, we displayed a giant stopwatch on the TV and timed each guest as they ran through the course.

After the first round, we shuffled the obstacles by moving them to different locations and having the kids run again. This kept the challenge fresh and exciting.

Obstacles we used:
Stepping Stones
Balance Beam
Jungle Gym
Rainbow Tunnel
Hop Scotch
Square cushions from play couch + ball pit
Triangle cushions from play couch (as hurdles)
Streamers & packing tape (car wash)
The variety of obstacles worked perfectly for kids of all ages, and the energy in the room was electric as everyone cheered each other on. Best of all, cleanup was a breeze — once the game was done, guests helped return obstacle to the spare room. It was the perfect way to burn off energy and make every child feel like a true superhero in training!
Our featured game of the party was Superheroes versus Robbers. This game put kids (and grown-ups!) into three roles: Superheroes, Robbers, and one Police Officer. Robbers snuck around to steal “cash” and delivered it to the Villain’s Lair while Superheroes patrolled the house, tagged robbers (with stickers) and escorted them to Jail. In jail, robbers worked together to crack combination-locked bags and earn a parole certificate—but only the right combos open the locks! The Police Officer guarded the jail, snapped mugshots, and can occasionally swiped a bag of cash back to the Superhero HQ. The first team to collect the stash of cash won!

This game was so immersive and had so many moving parts that I ended up creating an entire blog post dedicated just to explaining it. It was hands down the highlight of the party—the kids never wanted to stop playing! Click here to read the full post and get all the details.
From quick icebreakers (Superhero Names) to hands-on builds (mystery sticker mosaic) and full-body fun (target practice + obstacle course), these games kept our crew moving and totally in the Spider-verse. The clear roles and simple rules meant mixed ages could jump right in—and the energy stayed high from first photo to final “pow!”
